The day starts with a pick up from your hotel at 0700hrs and drive via North past coffee plantations via Mt. Kenya to Samburu National Reserve. Lunch at a camp and game drives en route. Dinner and overnight at a camp/lodge.
Full day spent exploring the park. Morning and afternoon game drives are offered. Dinner and overnight stay at a camp/lodge. The highlights of Samburu game reserve is the spectacular scenic beauty, rivers and forests. It is an area where the local people have a rich and colorful heritage. The reserves have numerous permanent springs and a wealth of wildlife which includes leopard, hippo, elephant, lion, reticulated giraffe, grevy's zebra and crocodile in the Ewaso Nyiro River. Over 365 species of birds have been identified in the sanctuaries.
Leaving Samburu, cross the Lerochi Plateau and descend to the floor of the Great Rift Valley, arriving at Lake Baringo by early afternoon. This fresh water lake supports an abundance of birdlife alongside hippos and crocodiles that languish on the Lake Shore. Dinner and overnight stay at Roberts camp/lodge.
At the nearby Lake Bogoria visit an area of bubbling hot springs and steaming geysers, and admire the pink swathes of flamingos on the soda lake. Then at Lake Nakuru National Park enjoy an afternoon game drive, where we literally trip over the many rhino in the park, and if lucky might see a pride of lion languishing in the shade, or leopard in the Acacia trees. Dinner and overnight stay at camp/lodge.
Morning game drive, watch and photograph birds and animals, breakfast and depart for Maasai Mara, arrive in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive is taken. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.
Full days exploring the Maasai Mara National Park. Morning and afternoon game drive. Optional hot air balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost of $ 450 per person. Meals and overnight at camp/lodge
The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephant. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna - lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures.
Morning game drives then return to the camp for breakfast, drive back to Nairobi to arrive by 1500hrs.
